Ex gratia

Kia ora tatou:
2006 has been a monumental year for me in all sorts of ways, both personal and professional. It has been a year of transition, of leaving a comfortable if unchallenging life to one which has moments of pure terror and unbelievable exhilaration, of wonderful companionship and extreme alone-ness; it has been and is a transition which is still a work in progress and has yet to find some sort of concrete conclusion.

Throughout that time I have kept afloat, buoyed by the warmth and generosity of friends both here and abroad. I have been fed, sheltered and shared the lives of people in the remotest parts of Aotearoa and South Africa and constantly humbled by the kindnesses I have experienced. I have seen unbelievably beautiful landscapes and shared stories of great price. Your aroha and friendship has made this year a truly humbling experience, and your comments on this blog( to which i have not been nearly diligent enough in replying) have both encouraged and informed me.

Without you all I doubt I would have made it this far or achieved what little I have.

I am deeply grateful. I am truly humbled.

And I thank you all.

Christmas is a time for families, for togetherness and for those of us with Faith, a time of celebration. But it is special, a once-in-a-year event of great wonder. May I wish you all the very best for the season and hope that you have great happiness.

Hi Tony,

We all obtain inspiration and strength from our friends an environment around us. Some of us need to draw down occasionally in order to overcome the trials and tribulations of the moment that encompasses us at that time. As you are an inspiration, so you are entitled to draw down inspiration and support.

Thank you for your Blogg over the last 12 months, may the Festive Season be your inspiration into 2007.

Regards,
Bikerchris

Dear Tony
Communication is just that - a two way (or more) activity. We might have helped you survive and grow in 2006 but you have also helped us out here. Thank you for YOUR contributions to our lives (both photographic and otherwise) and I hope that 2007 is a better one for all of us.

Peace and prosperity to you and all about you and who share this holiday time with you

Season's greetings Tony, and thank you for all the posts on some really interesting topics.
Following on from your blog (on 22 December) I have just been to see Al Gore's movie 'An Inconvenient Truth'. I feel like I've been hit by a train or something! It has certainly made me think and I recommend everyone goes to see it before it disappears from the cinemas.
Thanks for making a difference, and for caring enough to continue with the blog even when you don't get much feedback.
I wish you well for 2007 and may it be a really happy and rewarding year for you.

Hi Tony, and all others on the otherside of the screen, Seasons Greetings to you all.
2007 will be an interesting year. I was listening to a speaker a week ago, she said " If you want things to change, you have to make a change" I think it comes down to how brave or passionate you are about something.
Thanks for your honesty and insite into life and art.
I'll have a spot on new years and contemplate.
All the best.
